Job summary

Life Science Consultants in Cork is seeking a Project Lead to drive mechanical construction delivery for a biopharma client. You will oversee piping, HVAC, utilities, equipment installation, testing and turnover, coordinating with design houses, contractors and vendors to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires significant pharma/life sciences project experience, strong knowledge of mechanical systems and P&IDs, and a proven record of leading multidisciplinary teams on live

Qualifications

• Significant mechanical construction/project delivery experience in pharma/biotech/life sciences.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, P&IDs, isometrics, specs, testing, commissioning and turnover.
• Degree or equivalent with proven experience leading contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical construction delivery across piping, HVAC, utilities and equipment turnover.
• Lead engineering and design activities with design houses, contractors and vendors.
• Coordinate contractors and interfaces with live plant operations, ensuring compliance with RAMS, permits and site procedures.
• Monitor safety, quality, schedule, cost, productivity and contractor performance; escalate risks and recover as needed.
• Support material readiness, change control, technical queries, walkdowns and punch closure.
• Support commissioning, turnover and final project handover.

ABOUT THE PROJECT - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead mechanical construction delivery across piping, HVAC, utilities, equipment installation, testing and turnover.
• Lead engineering and design activities in collaboration with design houses, contractors and vendors.
• Coordinate contractors and manage interfaces with live plant operations, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, RAMS, permits and site procedures.
• Monitor safety, quality, schedule, cost, productivity and contractor performance, escalating risks and implementing recovery actions where required.
• Support material readiness, change control, technical queries, walkdowns and punch closure.
• Support commissioning, turnover and final project handover.

ABOUT YOU - ARE YOUR SKILLS A MATCH?

• Significant mechanical construction/project delivery experience within the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, testing, commissioning and turnover.
• Degree, trade qualification or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management or a related discipline, with proven experience leading contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
