Job summary

John Paul Construction is seeking a Project Engineer for Dublin-based projects. The role supports the Project Manager, liaises with design teams and subcontractors, and conducts technical verification of civil designs, models and drawings.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years' experience, a relevant degree, and a background with a main contractor; RC frame, commercial and residential experience is preferred. Proficiency in GPS, robotic total stations, levelling, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and MS

Qualifications

• Relevant third-level degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 7+ years' experience in a similar role with a main contractor.
• Project exposure to RC frame, commercial and residential builds.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and wider team with technical input.
• Liaise daily with project, design teams and subcontractors.
• Verify civil designs, models and drawings for accuracy.
• Implement QA procedures including pour checks and RFIs.
• Assist in maintaining safe on-site working practices.
• Monitor materials, plant and logistics; keep records updated.
• Produce regular progress reports for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and wider team by providing technical advice on the project
• Liaise daily with the project team, design team, and subcontractors
• Perform technical verification of civil engineering designs, models, and drawings
• Implement QA procedures, including concrete pre- and post-pour checks, RFIs, and resolution of technical issues
• Assist in maintaining and monitoring safe working practices on site
• Monitor and record materials, plant, and logistics
• Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports

Requirements

• Relevant third-level degree
• 7+ years' experience in a similar role
• Previous experience with a main contractor
• Project experience on RC frame, commercial and residential
• Proficient in the use of GPS, robotic total stations, and levelling equipment (essential)
• Excellent IT skills, with knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office
