The Project Associate - Transition Support role supports Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs) in Ireland under the Chief of Mission and Senior Protection Associate.
Job purpose: The Project Associate - Transition Support role is responsible for assisting Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs) in Ireland during their transition periods. This involves providing accurate information, tailored guidance, and individualized assistance to help BOTPs understand their options and access relevant services. The role aims to address barriers hindering their path to greater independence and stability. By facilitating access to services and providing crucial support, the position contributes to the overall project objectives of supporting vulnerable populations and promoting their integration and well-being within Ireland.
Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include assisting in project activity implementation and monitoring, retrieving and analyzing project data, and supporting the development of the Transition Support strategy through research and needs assessment. The role involves maintaining and updating referral pathways and service information by liaising with stakeholders. Administrative coordination of project implementation, including drafting status reports, correspondence, and other documentation, is also a core duty. The Project Associate will participate in meetings, coordinate activities with partners, and assist in monitoring implementing partners, reporting any non-compliance to the supervisor.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field from an accredited institution is required, along with three years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a High School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Work experience: Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups is required. Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs is advantageous. Prior work experience in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions is also considered an advantage.
Skills: Knowledge of migration-related subject areas is required. Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming is considered an advantage. Fluency in English (oral and written) is essential. Working knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
