Job summary

Sterling Engineering Ltd - Ireland & Europe is seeking a Programme Manager to support delivery and coordination across functions in a growing medical device and life sciences organisation. The role reports to the COO and works with senior leadership to provide structure, visibility and accountability for key programmes.

You will manage multiple priorities, coordinate stakeholders, monitor milestones and ensure actions are completed, while helping develop PMO processes and performance dashboards.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in project or programme management.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with PMO processes or business performance reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain visibility of key projects and initiatives across the business.
  • Develop and maintain project and programme plans, including milestones, owners and timelines.
  • Coordinate regular project and management reviews.
  • Track actions and follow up with stakeholders to ensure agreed deliverables are completed.
  • Identify potential delays, risks and issues and elevate where appropriate.
  • Support business planning and priority-setting activities.
  • Maintain project reporting, dashboards and key performance metrics.
  • Prepare clear and concise updates for senior management.
  • Coordinate activity across multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of individual projects and workstreams as required.
  • Support the ongoing development of programme and project management processes.

Our client is an established and growing organisation operating within the medical device and life sciences sector.

As the business continues to grow, they are looking to add a Programme Manager to support the delivery and coordination of key business initiatives across multiple functions.

The Role

This is a newly created position reporting to the COO and working closely with senior leadership and functional leads across the organisation.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for providing structure, visibility and accountability across a range of business programmes and projects.

The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring actions and milestones remain on track.

This is a broad role offering exposure across different areas of the business and would suit someone who enjoys working across functions and getting involved in how a business operates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain visibility of key projects and initiatives across the business.
  • Develop and maintain project and programme plans, including milestones, owners and timelines.
  • Coordinate regular project and management reviews.

Experience & Skills
  • 2–5 years' experience in project management, programme management, PMO, business operations, consulting or a similar role.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and following up on actions and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using project management and collaboration tools.
  • Degree in business, engineering, science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, manufacturing or another regulated environment.
  • Experience working across multiple functions or departments.
  • Exposure to project/programme reporting, PMO processes or business performance management.
  • Experience working within a growing or changing organisation.

Previous medical device experience is beneficial but not essential. The key requirements are strong organisation, communication, judgement and the ability to drive projects and actions through to completion.
