Job description

An opportunity has arisen with our Medical Device client in May for an experienced Project or Program Manager to lead the end-to-end development of innovative products within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will own projects from concept through to commercial launch, acting as the central leader across technical, commercial and operational functions.

This role requires more than traditional project management. We are looking for someone with the confidence to challenge assumptions, evaluate technical and commercial risks, ask the right questions and drive robust decision-making throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional, global teams through the full product development lifecycle.
• Own product development programmes from concept to commercial launch.
• Challenge technical solutions, project risks, assumptions, customer needs, and business outcomes.
• Drive project governance, timelines, budgets, and delivery while balancing quality, regulatory, and commercial priorities.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, marketing, and commercial teams.
• Support manufacturing scale-up and product commercialisation.
• Mentor project teams and promote continuous improvement and best practice.
• Provide clear communication and leadership across multiple stakeholders.

Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience leading complex product development programmes within a regulated industry such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, automotive, electronics, or advanced manufacturing.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership experience.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer, technical, regulatory, and business priorities.
• Experience supporting product industrialisation or manufacturing scale‑up is advantageous.
• Knowledge of regulated product development environments is desirable.
