Job summary

Matheson LLP in Dublin is seeking a Professional Support Lawyer to join their Finance and Capital Markets department. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the firm’s Knowledge Management function.
  • Monitor legislation, case law, and law practice developments.
  • Prepare updates and insights for clients and the team.
  • Provide research support and training to the team.
  • Update internal knowledge and legal materials.
  • Collaborate on innovative client services.
  • Participate in government and regulatory submissions.

Job description

We are currently recruiting a Professional Support Lawyer in the Finance and Capital Markets department in Matheson. You are likely to be an experienced finance lawyer, with a background and interest in Banking and Finance. The role can be full-time or part-time and is flexible within our hybrid working model. The successful candidate will work closely with the partners in FCM and the Head of Knowledge Management.

Responsibilities

You will be working within the existing FCM Knowledge Management function and will have scope to develop the role in line with the latest legal developments and new ways of working including thought leadership, implementation of AI and digital products and distribution of legal content internally and externally using digital platforms and media.

Role includes
  • Contributing to the effective design, implementation and management of the firm’s Knowledge Management function;
  • Monitoring new and proposed legislation, case law, changes in law & practice developments;
  • Preparing updates, analysis and insights for our team and our clients;
  • Providing technical expertise and support to the team, conducting research and providing training;
  • Updating precedents, practice notes and other internal knowledge material;
  • Collaborating on the design and delivery of innovative value-add services to clients; and
  • Participating in submissions to government and regulatory bodies, supporting and participating in industry working groups.
Skills and experience
  • Experienced banking and finance lawyer from a market leading practice;
  • An interest in the development of AI, digital solutions and use of digital platforms;
  • Excellent written and communication skills, demonstrating creativity, thought leadership and analytical thinking;
  • Strong drafting and research skills, with attention to detail; and
  • Ability to work independently and using own initiative while also being able to collaborate as part of a team.
