The role focuses on balancing customer demand with capacity and driving DIFOT performance across the site. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will manage end-to-end planning processes and drive continuous improvement while maintaining accurate records and cross-functional collaboration. This is a site-based role in Sligo.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or Supply Chain.
  • 3+ years of experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end production planning and scheduling.
  • Develop daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
  • Balance demand with capacity, materials and resources.
  • Monitor production performance, schedule adherence and losses.
  • Support Delivery in Full, On Time (DIFOT) performance.
  • Proactively manage material shortages, labour constraints and downtime.
  • Coordinate raw material and shipment requirements to optimise inventory and JIT flow.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, Engineering and Customer Service.
  • Support new product integration and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate planning records, reports and documentation.
  • Act as a key contact for production planning across the site.

Job description

We are currently working with a leading global manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced Production Planner for their facility in Sligo.

This is an excellent opportunity for a production or supply chain professional to join a high-performing manufacturing environment, playing a key role in balancing customer demand, manufacturing capacity and operational requirements.

The Role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Production Planner will manage the end-to-end production planning and scheduling process, ensuring schedules are achievable, efficient and aligned with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
  • Balancing customer demand with capacity, materials and resources.
  • Monitoring production performance, schedule adherence and production losses.
  • Supporting DIFOT (Delivery in Full, On Time) performance.
  • Proactively managing material shortages, labour constraints, downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Coordinating raw material and shipment requirements to optimise inventory and Just-In-Time material flow.
  • Working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, Engineering and Customer Service.
  • Supporting new product integration and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate planning records, reports and documentation.
  • Acting as a key contact for production planning and scheduling across the site.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
  • 3years' + experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
