Job summary

PayPal seeks a Product Manager for its enterprise open banking product team. You will partner with internal product and business teams to leverage open banking across use cases and work with engineering to define requirements and architecture for scalable solutions. The role is an individual contributor.

You will drive the open banking roadmap, gather customer insights, and translate them into product requirements while maintaining strong technical understanding and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience in product management for open banking or related fintech solutions.
• Strong analytical and data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Technical understanding of APIs, data architecture and cloud services.

This role is an individual contributor.

Essential Responsibilities

• Uses data to build insights on product or platform requirements consistent with the shared vision for the product.
• Gathers insights from the customer experience and customer needs to input to product requirements.
• Analyzes research, market analysis and usability studies to support data‑driven decision making.
• Monitors product profitability measures, including budget.
• Leads sprint planning, daily standups and retrospectives to drive execution.
• Interfaces with product and technology leadership as needed.
• Partners with content developers, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers to identify new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inputs to help shape the strategy and roadmap for open banking at PayPal.
• Drive execution of the open banking roadmap initiatives under your responsibility and become the subject matter expert for these, ranging from technical to business/user centric.
• Work closely with open banking use case teams to understand their needs, how open banking can most effectively deliver value to their areas, the benefits that open banking initiatives would bring, and how use case needs can inform horizontal and platform level roadmaps.
• Develop a strong technical understanding of the initiatives under your responsibility, ensuring that technical execution meets product requirements and communicating technical elements to others.
• Create robust documentation for each initiative, clearly stating the reasons, anticipated benefits, success metrics, technical details and key stakeholders.
• Practice strong communication, both verbal and written, including succinct high‑level summaries as well as detailed explanations of responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in product management for open banking or related financial technology solutions.
• Strong analytical and data‑driven decision making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Technical understanding of APIs, data architecture and cloud services.
