Job summary

MSA Safety, based in Galway, Ireland, is recruiting through Manpower Ireland for a 23-month temporary contract in manufacturing. The role covers component preparation, assembly and testing, GMP compliance and cross-training across manufacturing cells.

You will work 39 hours per week across fixed day, evening, and night shifts with various patterns; onsite parking and training provided; opportunity to convert to permanent roles and progress within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing role.
• Aptitude for mechanical/process concepts.
• Previous roles involving product assembly and testing.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and work ethic.
• Permission to work fulltime in Ireland (minimum 40 hrs/week).

Responsibilities

• Component preparation.
• Follow manufacturing assembly aids and procedures.
• Adhere to GMP.
• Light mechanical assembly work.
• Preparation and testing of Printed Circuit Boards.
• Functional testing and recording of test results.
• Cross-training across Manufacturing Cells.
• Operate and maintain equipment.
• Hand soldering and SMT/THM component population on PCBs.
• Electronic testing and performance verification.
• Participate in 6S activities.
• Record data at required stages in the process.
• Support colleagues and other departments.

Shift Patterns (39 hours per week)

Fixed Day Shifts

D1

• Monday-Tuesday: 7:30am - 5:00pm
• Wednesday-Thursday: 7:30am - 6:00pm

D2

• Tuesday-Wednesday: 7:30am - 6:00pm
• Thursday-Friday: 7:30am - 5:00pm

Evening Shift

• Monday: 4:30pm - 1:00am
• Tuesday-Thursday: 5:30pm - 2:00am
• Friday: 4:30pm - 12:00am

Night Shift

• Monday-Thursday: 11:30pm - 8:00am
• Friday: 9:30pm - 5:00am

Description of duties and role responsibilities

• Component preparation
• Follow all manufacturing assembly aids and procedures
• Adhere to GMP
• Light mechanical assembly work
• Preparation and testing of Printed Circuit Boards
• Functional testing of assembled boards/ units and recording of test results
• Cross-training and upskilling in multi functions across Manufacturing Cells
• Operation and scheduled maintenance of equipment
• Hand Soldering and population of SMT/ THM components on Printed Circuit Boards
• Electronic testing and performance verification
• Participation in Cell 6S activities
• Recording or logging of all relevant data at the specified stages, where required, in the process.
• To be flexible and supportive to all other employees and departments.
• Adhere to all company Health and Safety policies and procedures

Duties relate to existing products and processes in addition to new products and processes which the company may introduce from time to time

Required Skills for this Role

• Experience working in a manufacturing role
• Demonstrated aptitude for mechanical/ process related concepts
• Prior job roles involving product assembly and test
• Experience to work in fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Excellent teamwork and work ethic - it's the people that make the place!
• Permission to work fulltime in Ireland must have permission to work at least 40hrs per week (Stamp 2 holders are ineligible).

Educational Requirements

• Minimum Irish Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent
