Job summary

GPL MOTOR FACTORS LIMITED in Ireland is seeking an experienced procurement professional to oversee sourcing of parts and equipment for service and distribution. You will attend industry events, research new lines, and guide purchasing decisions based on market trends and budgets.

The role involves negotiating supplier contracts, monitoring delivery and quality, and collaborating with warehousing and cross-functional teams to optimise inventory and sustainability within the wholesale/retail

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in procurement or sourcing roles.
  • Level 6 qualification including Higher Advanced Certificate and National Craft Certificate.
  • Experience in wholesale/retail trade, and repair of motor vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and oversee procurement of parts, accessories, and equipment from suppliers to support service and distribution.
  • Attend trade fairs and supplier meetings to research products and identify new sourcing opportunities.
  • Guide purchasing decisions by monitoring market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Assess budgets and requirements to determine appropriate sourcing strategies and packaging materials.
  • Evaluate supplier bids, negotiate pricing, and optimize procurement efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, aligning with business objectives and sustainability values.
  • Improve supply chain operations and procurement processes with innovative solutions for senior management.
  • Ensure timely delivery, monitor quality, manage returns, and track supplier performance.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for efficient inventory management and cross-functional alignment.

Job Description

  • Organise and oversee the procurement of parts and accessories, and equipment from manufacturers, importers, and other suppliers to support service and distribution
  • Attend trade fairs, industry events, and supplier meetings to research new product lines, identify potential suppliers, and evaluate emerging trends
  • Stay informed on market trends and consumer preferences, using research, conferences, and other sources to guide purchasing decisions
  • Assess budget constraints and product requirements to determine appropriate sourcing strategies, including quantity, type, and quality and packaging materials
  • Evaluate supplier bids, identify new sourcing opportunities, and negotiate competitive pricing to optimise procurement efficiency
  • Assist in negotiating contracts with suppliers, ensuring all agreements align with business objectives and sustainability values
  • Identify opportunities to enhance supply chain operations and procurement processes, presenting innovative solutions to senior management
  • Ensure timely delivery and compliance of procured items with orders, monitor the quality of incoming goods, manage returns of defective products, and track supplierperformance
  • Oversee administrative processes related to procurement and coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient inventory management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development and operations, to align procurement strategies with business goals and sustainability initiatives
