Job summary

PE Global (UK) is recruiting a Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to lead the procurement function for a Cork-based contractor. The role oversees procurement activities across multiple projects, developing strategies, managing supplier relationships and driving cost efficiency.

Reporting to senior management, you will ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of electrical materials and plant, while driving performance metrics and continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in a senior procurement, purchasing or supply chain role.
  • Experience in electrical contracting or related sectors desirable.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating framework agreements.
  • Excellent understanding of procurement processes, contract management and supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Third-level qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all procurement activities across multiple projects and business units.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing structures and framework contracts with suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain efficiencies.
  • Manage supplier selection, onboarding and performance evaluation processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations and supply chain risks.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, commercial teams and site management to ensure project procurement requirements are met.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of electrical materials, equipment and plant.
  • Maintain procurement schedules and support project delivery programmes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supply chain processes.
  • Produce procurement reports, spend analysis and supplier performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations and industry best practice.

About the Company

PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Procurement & Supply Chain Manager on behalf of a leading Cork-based electrical contractor.

With a strong reputation for delivering complex electrical and M&E projects across commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, life sciences and infrastructure sectors, our client continues to experience significant growth and is now seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead and develop their procurement function.

This is a key leadership role within the business, responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, plant and subcontract services across multiple projects while driving supplier performance, commercial value and operational efficiency.

The Role

Reporting directly to senior management, the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager will take ownership of all procurement activities across the organisation. The successful candidate will develop procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships and support project teams to ensure materials and services are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Experience within electrical contracting, M&E contracting, construction, engineering or a related sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating framework agreements.
  • Excellent understanding of procurement processes, contract management and supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/procurement management systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Third-level qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business or a related discipline preferred.
