Jones Engineering, a leading engineering services firm in Dublin, seeks a Senior Buyer to manage procurement for key projects both locally and internationally. You will lead meetings, develop strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and drive continuous improvement of SAP-based processes.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a purchasing role.
• Knowledge of the construction industry is preferred.
• Engineering background is advantageous.
• IIPMM or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Experience with SAP is advantageous.
• Full training on in-house procedures will be provided.

Responsabilidades

• Lead scheduled procurement meetings with project teams and develop procurement strategies.
• Lead procurement of key projects domestically and internationally, including sourcing and supplier selection.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate framework agreements.
• Develop domestic and international supply chains to support projects.
• Ensure compliance with quality procedures and prepare procurement reports.
• Monitor supplier performance and mentor procurement team members.

Skills and Requirements

• Ability to manage a team.

• Relevant 3rd level qualification - IIPMM or equivalent preferred.
• Full training on in-house procedures/systems will be provided.

• Excellent IT skills essential - knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead scheduled procurement meetings with project teams on key projects: Develop project specific procurement strategies, ensure quality, cost and delivery targets are met and monitor supplier performance.
• Lead the procurement of key projects both domestic & international, through sourcing, negotiation, pricing, technical compliance, and supplier selection, leveraging volume discounts and long-term partnerships while managing risks associated with supply continuity.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, conducting business reviews, negotiating framework and rebate agreements, and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
• Develop strategic domestic & international supply chains to support key projects. Evaluate supplier capabilities and make recommendations for supplier selection according to our supplier qualification process and strategy.
• Ensure compliance within the division with our quality procedures.
• Preparation of project and division procurement reports.
• Identify and develop department and interdepartmental process improvements in conjunction with key Group stakeholders.
• Monitor supplier performance for the division in conjunction with the Group Quality Team. Carry out supplier reviews informed by the process.
• Provide accurate and concise information to the Head of Electrical Procurement to inform strategic decision making.
• Inform, implement, and lead the ESG development of the division in conjunction with The Group ESG Leads.
• Lead continuous improvement of SAP ERP based procurement.
• Mentor procurement team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the head of procurement.
