Essential qualifications include Level 6/7 technical qualification. The role requires flexible shift patterns (day and night) and calibration responsibilities with strong adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Essential: Level 6/7 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or Moulding Technology (or related technical discipline).
• Experience with pneumatic and PLC-driven automation is desirable.
• Strong maintenance, calibration, and process-improvement capabilities required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain automated production lines for ophthalmic lenses.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimise downtime.
• Perform fault-finding, preventative maintenance and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focusing on quality, yield and efficiency.
• Assist with process optimisation and quality improvement projects.
• Maintain high housekeeping, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and manufacturing teams to achieve production goals.
• Provide calibration support during nights and weekends, recording deviations and maintaining records.

Limerick | Permanent | Day & Night Shifts

We are seeking a motivated Process Technician to join a high-performing manufacturing team producing ophthalmic lenses in a highly automated environment. This role offers the opportunity to support production equipment, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to quality, safety, and operational excellence. Selected candidates may also provide calibration support during night and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain automated production lines.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimise downtime.
• Perform fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, yield, and efficiency.
• Assist with process optimisation and quality improvement projects.

Calibration Support (Selected Technicians)

• Provide calibration support during nights and weekends.
• Perform calibration activities in line with approved procedures.
• Record and report calibration deviations or non-conformances.
• Maintain calibration records, databases, and instrument history files.
• Support audits and drive the closure of calibration-related NCRs.
• Ensure calibration equipment and standards are available and maintained.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Level 6 or Level 7 qualification in:
  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Electronic Engineering
  • Moulding Technology
  • Or a related technical discipline
