Job summary

Oxford Global Resources in Longford, Ireland, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to maintain highly automated equipment to maximise uptime, quality, and efficiency. The role is based in a regulated medical device environment with day and night shifts.

You will provide front-line technical support to production, interpret drawings, and contribute to continuous improvement using Lean principles, while developing fault-finding and troubleshooting expertise.

Qualifications

  • Level 6/7 engineering qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems and industrial sensors.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment documentation.
  • Strong computer and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for high-volume automated manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, sensor, robotic, and automation-related issues.
  • Investigate and resolve equipment faults to minimise downtime.
  • Carry out equipment adjustments, setups, changeovers, and process optimisation activities.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
  • Escalate complex issues where required while maintaining ownership through to resolution.
  • Support achievement of key manufacturing metrics including OEE, Yield, Throughput, Downtime Reduction, Scrap Reduction, Schedule Attainment, Right First Time.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Support investigations relating to non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis activities using 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, A3 Problem Solving, CAPA.
  • Support introduction of new equipment, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with equipment qualifications, validations, and process improvement projects.

Job Description

Our client in Longford are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to be responsible for maintaining and supporting highly automated manufacturing equipment to maximise equipment uptime, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency. Working within a regulated medical device environment and on a shift (day and night) basis, the Technician will provide front-line technical support to production operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for high-volume automated manufacturing and packaging equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, sensor, robotic, and automation-related issues

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation
  • Strong computer and documentation skills.
