Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer II for our Cork team. This role focuses on developing capable processes and transferring products into production with strong process validation.

The candidate should have an engineering degree and a track record in regulated manufacturing, with the ability to drive improvements and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical) or equivalent.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting in manufacturing.
  • Hands-on engineering experience in regulated environments.
  • Experience with process development, validation, and transfer to production.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses process capabilities and prioritizes improvements for complex processes.
  • Applies technical knowledge to design and develop processes, tooling, and automation.
  • Executes deliverables for PDP/TDP, project management, and quality systems.
  • Prepares technical data and recommendations for reviews.
  • Writes validation protocols and reports for new processes.
  • Ensures proper documentation (BOMs, routers, FMEA, etc.).
  • Oversees development builds and qualified production lines.
  • Provides DFM input to engineering print packages.
  • Contributes ideas for IP submissions and engages with teams.
  • Trains technicians and may train manufacturing personnel for validation.

Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer II on a permanent basis to join our Cork team.

Job Purpose:

Develops capable processes and ensures efficient and effective transfer of product into production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes.
  • Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.
  • Executes the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
  • Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.
  • Writes validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.
  • Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., BOM’s, Routers, FMEA’s, etc.).
  • Oversees development builds associated with the project using special work requests.
  • Develops qualified production lines.
  • Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
  • Contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions.
  • Trains and/or provides work direction to technicians and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation.
  • May serve as core team member or extended team member on new product projects.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Level 8 Hons Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) or equivalent fields of study.
  • Strong Problem-Solving capability with a proven track record of resolving complex manufacturing/process issues.
  • Solid Mechanical Engineering background with practical, hands-on engineering experience.
  • Experience in process development, implementation, and validation within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering validated processes from qualification through routine production.
  • Strong technical and operational execution skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and drive activities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong initiative, ownership, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across operations, engineering, quality, and validation teams.
