Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a Process Engineer II for our Cork team. The role focuses on developing capable production processes and ensuring smooth transfer of products into manufacturing.

Responsibilities include process capability assessment, design and validation activities, and documentation to meet quality systems requirements. Collaboration with operations, engineering, quality and validation teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving with track record of resolving complex manufacturing issues.
  • Hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience in process development and validation in regulated manufacturing.
  • Delivery of validated processes from qualification to routine production.
  • Strong technical and operational execution skills.
  • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Initiative and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communicator across operations, engineering, quality, and validation teams.

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge to design and develop processes, tooling and/or automation.
  • Executes deliverables related to PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
  • Prepares and presents technical data at reviews.
  • Writes validation protocols and reports for new processes.
  • Ensures documentation meets quality systems requirements (e.g., BOMs, Routers, FMEA).
  • Oversees development builds on projects using special work requests.
  • Provides DFM input to engineering print packages.
  • Contributes ideas for IP submissions.
  • Trains and guides technicians and manufacturing personnel when needed.
  • May serve on project teams for new products.

Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer II on a permanent basis to join our Cork team.

Job Purpose:

Develops capable processes and ensures efficient and effective transfer of product into production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes.
  • Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures,toolingand/or automation.
  • Executes the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
  • Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.
  • Writes validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.
  • Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., BOM’s, Routers, FMEA’s, etc.).
  • Oversees development builds associated with the project using special work requests.
  • Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
  • Contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions.
  • Trains and/or provides work direction to technicians and may train manufacturing personnel whenrequiredas part of a validation.
  • May serve as core team member or extended team member on new product projects.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Level 8 HonsBachelor’sDegree inEngineering(Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) or equivalent fields of study.
  • StrongProblem-Solvingcapability with a proventrack recordof resolving complex manufacturing/process issues.
  • Solid Mechanical Engineering background with practical, hands‑on engineering experience.
  • Experience in process development, implementation, and validation within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering validated processes from qualification through routine production.
  • Strongtechnical and operational execution skills.
  • Highly motivated self‑starter who can work independently and drive activities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong initiative, ownership, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across operations, engineering, quality, and validation teams.
