Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated R&D Engineer II on a permanent basis to join our Galway team.
Responsible for supporting the development and commercialisation of next-generation minimally invasive medical devices for the treatment of coronary artery disease. Working as part of a multidisciplinary New Product Development (NPD) organisation, the R&D Engineer II will contribute to the design, development, verification, regulatory readiness, and commercial launch of innovative coronary intervention technologies across global healthcare markets.
The R&D Engineer II is responsible for providing technical support and design solutions throughout the product development lifecycle, including development verification, performance assessment, design evaluation, regulatory testing, and remediation activities. Under limited supervision, the individual contributes to and delivers design control outputs in accordance with TDP (Technology Development Project) and PDP (Product Development Project) methodologies. The role also partners closely with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Design Assurance / Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sterilisation/Biocompatibility functions to ensure timely delivery of project objectives and successful commercialisation of new technologies. In addition, the engineer may support scientific communication, educational activities, and development of technical materials that promote understanding and appropriate use of Boston Scientific products.
