Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Altium Designer; KiCad or OrCAD experience is beneficial.

We are looking for an experienced PCBA Requirements & Design Engineer to support an engineering project based primarily in Limerick, Ireland.

The role combines PCBA requirements engineering, schematic design support, hardware development and testing. You will work closely with system, hardware and software engineering teams, translating product and system-level requirements into robust board-level solutions.

What you'll be doing

• Translate product requirements and system architectures into board-specific PCBA requirements
• Support the design and development of PCBA schematics
• Participate in design, layout and architecture reviews
• Collaborate closely with system, hardware and software teams
• Ensure the feasibility and quality of hardware designs
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Select and specify board-level components
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations
• Carry out initial sample inspections and testing according to defined test plans
• Support the implementation of hardware requirements

What we’re looking for

You should have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems or a comparable discipline, alongside practical experience in PCBA and schematic design.

Strong knowledge of hardware architecture and development is required, together with hands‑on experience using Altium Designer. Experience with other EDA tools such as KiCad or OrCAD would also be beneficial.

You'll also bring:

• Experience with hardware design reviews and development processes
• A structured and analytical approach to engineering
• Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Professional English language skills
• German language skills are advantageous
• Very good MS Office skills

Experience with electromechanical system testing, EMC/EMI, PCB layout guidelines, Design for Manufacturing (DfM), or interdisciplinary development projects would be an additional advantage.
