Job summary

Cpl Group is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead a team within our client's Asset Management Technology group. You will be a hands-on developer contributing to building a suite of Micro-Services and UIs for retirement and college savings solutions.

You will drive design, implementation and quality, working in an Agile environment with cross-functional stakeholders. Extensive Java/SpringBoot experience and cloud exposure are essential.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of design & development experience.
  • Experience in Java, SpringBoot, RESTful services and Angular.
  • DevOps enablers such as Maven and Jenkins.
  • Karate, Playwright, Storybook or similar testing frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL.
  • Exposure to AWS or Kubernetes would be advantageous.
  • Kafka or similar messaging frameworks would be beneficial.
  • Investment Management/domain insight is a plus but not required.

Job description

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead a team within our client's Asset Management Technology group. You will be a hands‑on developer contributing to building a suite of Micro-Services and UIs. The team is responsible for designing & implementing technical solutions for the Asset Management Solutions division which provides retirement and college saving solutions.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent and you want to learn more.

A minimum of 10 years of design & development experience.

Experience in Java, SpringBoot, RESTful services and Angular or similar

DevOps enablers such as Maven and Jenkins

Karate, Playwright, Storybook or similar testing frameworks is a plus

As well as experience in Oracle SQL & PLSQL

Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Kubernetes would be an advantage

Messaging frameworks such as Kafka would be good but not necessary

Investment Management/Business Domain business insight would be advantage, but it is not required.

In this role, you will be contributing to the development of quality software components that are used by Portfolio Analysts and Managers in managing over $950 Billion assets under management held in Retirement & College Savings solutions. You will have chance to engage, shape and contribute to our suite of Micro-Services and UIs that provides building, modeling and trading capabilities for these solutions.
