Job summary

Analog Devices in Ireland seeks a Principal Engineer to shape next‑generation grid intelligence. You will own algorithm design for power systems, lead cross‑functional teams, and drive real‑world deployment across edge and cloud platforms.

The role requires deep power systems knowledge, strong signal processing and ML skills, and a proven track record in production‑level software and hardware integration. Travel ~10% to customers may be needed.

Qualifications

• PhD required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Power Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• 6+ years post-PhD experience in practical algorithms deployed to production systems.
• Leadership and communication skills demonstrated in technical leadership roles.
• Patents and/or publications showing novelty and creative thinking.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive design and development of advanced algorithms for power system monitoring and grid analytics.
• Develop signal processing and machine learning techniques to extract insights from sensor data.
• Architect and deploy solutions across Edge-to-Cloud stacks on resource-constrained and embedded platforms.
• Lead end-to-end solution development from modelling and simulation through validation to production deployment.
• Influence product and technology strategy through depth of domain expertise.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, data, and applications teams to translate innovations into scalable products.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to building a high-performance team.
