Job summary

CPL in Dublin is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead the full software lifecycle for dealer-facing products across Canada and the UK. You will guide architecture, mentor engineers, and help establish the Dublin hub's culture.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to design scalable solutions using Java, TypeScript, React, and Remix, leveraging AWS and modern microservices. This role emphasizes impact, leadership, and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a software engineer with progressive responsibility.
• 3+ years in technical leadership or principal engineer role.
• Deep full-stack expertise in Java and TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Experience designing distributed systems and 24/7 production readiness.
• Hands-on with AWS and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and drive product impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead full software development lifecycle for dealer-facing products.
• Design and implement microservices and web apps (Java/React/TypeScript).
• Collaborate with product peers to define requirements and architecture.
• Ensure code quality with automated tests and observability.
• Promote scalable, cloud-first design and AI-enabled tooling.
• Mentor engineers and help establish Dublin hub culture.
