Job summary

Rent a Recruiter is seeking a Principal EIA Consultant in Ireland (Cork preferred, Dublin or Galway considered) to take ownership of EIAR projects from strategy to delivery.

You will lead EIAR preparation, coordinate specialists, mentor junior staff, and support bids and business development within a leading environmental and engineering consultancy, with hybrid working.

• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and best practice.
• Excellent report writing and client- and regulator-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver EIARs for major road/rail projects.

Are you an experienced environmental professional who has personally led and delivered Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) for major projects?

We are recruiting a Principal EIA Consultant to join a leading multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consultancy. With a substantial portfolio of projects, particularly across road and rail infrastructure, this is an opportunity to take ownership of complex environmental assessments from strategy through to delivery.

The Role

As a Principal EIA Consultant, you will take ownership of environmental projects and personally lead the preparation, coordination and successful delivery of EIARs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Personally lead and deliver complex EIARs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and specialist consultants.
• Manage project scope, programme, finances, quality and technical delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Irish and EU environmental legislation.
• Lead relationships with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
• Provide technical review and quality assurance.
• Mentor and develop environmental consultants.
• Support bids, proposals and business development.

About You

• Demonstrable experience personally leading and delivering EIARs – this is a key requirement.
• Strong environmental consultancy and project delivery experience.
• Experience in road or rail is advantageous but not essential; candidates from other environmental sectors are welcomed.
• Strong knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and best practice.
• Strong technical report writing and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartership is advantageous but not essential.
• Cork is preferred, with strong candidates in Dublin or Galway also considered.
