Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead AI Security Engineer to drive the secure development of foundation models and AI use cases. You will implement technical controls, run vulnerability tests, and ensure responsible-AI practices are embedded in the platform.

This execution-focused role partners with central security and governance teams to translate guidance into tested, working solutions. You will build guardrails and mitigations, validate data usage, and support governance reviews with reproducible

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience testing ML/AI models for security vulnerabilities.
• Strong applied security engineering skills to implement real controls.
• Experience implementing bias or fairness testing/mitigation for ML models.
• Familiarity with embedding/foundation model security risks and research.
• Practical experience with access control and audit logging across distributed/cloud/on-prem environments.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS and data protection regulations to guide controls.

Responsibilities

• Implement technical recommendations from central security and AI governance teams and track to completion.
• Test models for security vulnerabilities and practical risks.
• Build and maintain guardrails, filters, and access restrictions based on testing results.
• Implement bias and fairness testing for models and use cases.
• Provide concrete evidence (logs, test results) for governance reviews.
• Stay updated on model vulnerability research and test the platform accordingly.
• Collaborate with security, privacy, and governance teams as primary technical point of contact.
