Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Irish accountancy practice.
  • Strong VAT, payroll, bookkeeping and tax compliance knowledge.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or Xero.
  • Excellent client communication and deadline management.
  • Self-motivated with ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Prepare and file income tax, corporation tax, and VAT returns.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and be a primary contact.
  • Respond to client queries promptly.
  • Prepare management accounts and assist with financial reporting.
  • Oversee bookkeeping and payroll for clients.
  • Handle Revenue registrations and correspondence.
  • Assist with company secretarial duties (annual returns, RBO filings).
  • Contribute to improving internal processes and workflows.

About the Role

If you are a Fully Qualified Practice Accountant living in Cork, looking for a position that offers you career progression and work-life balance, our firm might be the right place for you. At our growing firm, we offer the opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of clients and work across a broad range of accounting, tax and advisory services. We are seeking a motivated and capable qualified Accountant who would like to learn and grow with our firm. At the same time we offer flexible hours, the freedom to set your own hours, work with a system that works best for you. Our location in Carrigaline puts us very close to local outdoor amenities and scenic coastal walks.

This position is ideally suited to someone with Irish practice experience and who is confident in handling core compliance work, communicates well with clients, and is looking to expand their knowledge across many areas and progress quickly.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in an Irish accountancy practice
  • Strong understanding of VAT, payroll, bookkeeping, and tax compliance
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Good communication skills and ability to deal directly with clients
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership of work
