Job summary

Lidon Group is seeking a POS Specialist to provide essential POS systems knowledge and support for our Retail and Hospitality IT environments. The role focuses on keeping POS, Wifi and business applications running smoothly across our stores, forecourts and hospitality outlets.

The successful candidate will combine retail acumen with IT skills, working with 3rd party partners and internal teams to optimise systems, resolve issues and improve efficiency. A full driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Business & Information systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years' experience in a business information systems or business system analyst/integration/support role working with POS.

Responsibilities

• Point of knowledge and expertise for POS systems across the business. Assist and support managers to fully utilise systems and tools.
• Ensure fit for purpose SLA's with 3rd party IT and Business systems suppliers; Escalation point for site related IT and Systems issues.
• Conduct POS system usage audits, report generation & analysis to assess performance and potential for more efficient practices.
• IT Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including inventory of hardware and software licenses.
• Collaborate with Systems & IT partners to ensure regular vulnerability scans, penetration, failover, disaster recovery testing.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand opportunities and mitigates problems; identify root causes to minimise reoccurrence.
• Interact across stakeholder environment to promote optimal use of systems and technology to deliver efficiency.
• Support owners in selecting & deploying new systems; coordinate testing and integration of applications.
• Assess new collaboration tools and promote adoption, including M365 applications.

Great new opportunity for an ambitious POS Specialist to join our team. The position will provide the essential POS systems knowledge and support to ensure efficient operation of our Retail and Hospitality IT systems. We continue to grow fast creating challenges and opportunities to adjust our processes and use of systems to scale our business to even greater heights.

Lidon Group operates 24x7x365 retail, food and forecourt stores and services with business continuity hugely reliant on efficiently functioning POS systems, Wifi and broadband networks combined with business applications. We work with multiple 3rd party IT and business systems partners to deliver our business and now wish to hire an inhouse resource to ensure optimal operation and use of our retail systems and to assist with managing our 3rd party technology and IT services partners. Our business systems environment encompasses multiple vendors covering POS, Accounts, payroll & Invoicing, time management, payment management, Footfall, Loyalty, Microsoft 365 as well as a myriad of business efficiency and marketing tools.

The ideal candidate will possess keen retail and business acumen and be motivated to ensure we are using our systems & IT to deliver business performance objectives. The candidate will be looking to gain hands‑on experience and grow their technical skill set. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.

Main Responsibilities

• Point of knowledge and expertise for POS systems across the business. Assist and support managers to fully utilise systems and tools at their disposal. You will be involved in examining existing and new systems for improvement, uncovering and reporting issues.
• Ensure fit for purpose SLA's with 3rd party IT and Business systems suppliers; Escalation point for site related IT and Systems issues.
• Conduct POS system usage audits, report generation & analysis to assess performance and potential for more efficient practices. Work with users and business partners to confirm that their needs are being met and leading them to optimised solutions, processes, and procedures.
• IT Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including inventory of hardware and software licenses.
• In collaboration with our Systems & IT partners, ensure regular vulnerability scans, penetration, failover, disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity preparedness.
• Partnering with business stakeholders to understand the opportunity / challenge / problem statement; anticipating, mitigating potential problems and identifying root causes to minimise reoccurrence of issues.
• Interacting across the breadth of our stakeholder environment from operational to senior executives; Proactively promote optimal use of systems and technology to deliver business efficiencies and support operations.
• Support business owners in the selection & deployment of new systems; coordination of application testing and integration and the ongoing evolution of all applications.
• Assess new collaboration and business efficiency tools and help users adapt and adopt more effective ways of working. Such tools include utilisation of M365 across the company including Outlook, Teams, Forms, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Make recommendations to optimise system efficiency and resolve potential issues.
• Capable of producing requirements spec, system test and install specifications.
• End to end management of systems upgrade and new installations.

Skills And Experience

The successful candidate will have prior experience and working knowledge of POS systems, eg CBE Futatill & Pixel Point.

• Excellent knowledge of Office 365 collaboration tools.
• A friendly, professional manner with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

Technical skills: Basic knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Familiarity with networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPN).

Experience With Office 365 And Other Productivity Tools

Familiar with cloud and backup technologies.
