Job summary

Doyle Shipping Group is seeking a General Operative for our Traffic Management and Warehouse team at Rosslare Port. The role involves assisting with receiving and checking vehicles, directing motorists to parking areas, and directing operations with hand signals or flashlights as required.

Within the Warehouse division, the operative will move goods and materials, operate warehouse machinery safely, and maintain housekeeping across the facility.

Qualifications

• Full, clean Category B driving licence or equivalent valid in Ireland.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
• Good literacy and numerical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Proven ability to work within a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the highest standard of service to all customers.
• Receive and check trucks, highlight anomalies and ensure secure, correct and timely processes in line with health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure safety of road users on the compound and maintain a friendly, effective manner with the public.
• Assist with safe loading, handling and unloading of cargo/materials.
• Assist with hand-balling of cargo/materials.
• Ensure incoming cargo/materials are stored, stacked and distributed according to procedures.
• Keep the warehouse tidy, clean and secure.
• Process and organise delivery and/or collection of materials to and from the warehouse.
• Process necessary documentation and complete system transactions.
• Operate company equipment and machinery (e.g., forklifts) safely and in accordance with procedures.
• Perform any other duties as required by management.
