Job summary

P Roche Agricultural Contractors Limited t/a P Roche Agri, based in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, is seeking Plant Mechanics for immediate start at their facility. 2-3 years of Plant Mechanic experience is required; mechanic certification is preferred but not essential.

Training will be provided on-the-job. Responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and servicing plant equipment used in construction and related activities, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' Plant Mechanic experience required.
• Mechanic Certification preferred but not essential.
• 2-3 years' proven relevant experience as a Plant Mechanic is required.
• Experience in the agri industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service machinery and equipment used in construction, demolition and related activities.
• Ensure plant machinery operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and support productivity.
• Perform regular maintenance checks on plant machinery including mixers, conveyors, pumps, crushers, and batching systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize breakdowns.
• Lubricate machinery, replace worn parts, and ensure all components are in good condition.
• Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and diagnose problems accurately.
• Repair or replace faulty parts to return machinery to full operation promptly.
• Perform scheduled and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
