Job summary

MC Group, based in Kerry, Ireland, seeks an experienced Plant Mechanic for immediate start at sites in Kerry and Cork. 39 hours per week at a competitive rate. 2–3 years of plant mechanic experience required with on‑the‑job training provided.

Applicants should have mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system knowledge, and be able to read technical drawings. Experience in construction or demolition is a plus. Training and safety are prioritized.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of proven plant mechanic experience.
• Mechanic Certification preferred but not essential.
• No minimum academic requirements; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in construction or demolition industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service plant machinery used in construction and demolition.
• Ensure plant machinery operates safely to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Perform maintenance checks on mixers, conveyors, pumps, crushers, and batching systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce breakdowns.
• Lubricate machinery, replace worn parts, and ensure components function correctly.
• Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and diagnose problems.
• Repair or replace faulty parts to restore full operational capacity promptly.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
