Job summary

Tyndall National Institute invites applications for a fully funded PhD project in integrated sensing and communication for UAV and non-terrestrial platforms. You will join the Dublin-based Wireless Communications Laboratory to develop signal processing and sensing waveforms, and validate them on SDRs and UAV testbeds.

The project combines theory and experiments, with opportunities to publish at leading journals and present at international conferences.

Qualifications

  • First-class or upper-second-class honours in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong background in wireless communications and signal processing.
  • Experience with UAVs, RF sensing or related domains is desirable.
  • Ability to develop and validate algorithms using SDRs and hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Review state of the art in integrated sensing and communication.
  • Develop signal processing algorithms for RF sensing and communications.
  • Create concepts balancing sensing and communications performance.
  • Implement and validate algorithms on SDRs and hardware.
  • Publish research results in journals and conferences.
