Job summary

Tyndall National Institute in Dublin invites applications for a Postdoctoral/Senior Postdoctoral role in Wireless Sensing and Communication for UAV platforms. The successful candidate will design waveforms, antenna prototypes and joint radar/communications processing for portable UAV payloads, validated on SDR hardware and field trials.

Opportunities include supervision of postgraduate students, involvement in public engagement and collaboration across Ireland and Europe in a dynamic research

Qualifications

PhD degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Wireless Communications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong fundamentals in statistical signal processing with background in radar or RF array/sensing.
Familiarity with embedded systems and software-defined radios.
Familiarity with mathematical modelling tools such as C++/Python/MATLAB/Julia.
Good publication record in IEEE/ACM journals and conferences.

Responsibilities

Develop beamforming and direction-finding for multi-antenna systems.
Develop sensing waveforms and receiver processing for UAV operation.
Implement and validate algorithms using C++, Python, MATLAB; deploy on hardware.
Disseminate research through publications and conferences; mentor postgraduate students.
