Responsibilities

  • Safely dispense prescriptions in accordance with PSI guidelines and pharmacy legislation.
  • Provide professional advice and counselling to patients on prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
  • Deliver excellent customer care and healthcare advice.
  • Ensure safe, accurate and efficient dispensing procedures.
  • Supervise the dispensary team and support Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Manage controlled drugs and pharmacy records in line with legal requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy SOPs.
  • Support the delivery of pharmacy services including vaccinations, health screening and other clinical services where applicable.

Our client, a well-established community pharmacy in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, is seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join their professional and customer-focused team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely dispense prescriptions in accordance with PSI guidelines and pharmacy legislation.
  • Provide professional advice and counselling to patients on prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
  • Deliver excellent customer care and healthcare advice.
  • Ensure safe, accurate and efficient dispensing procedures.
  • Supervise the dispensary team and support Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Manage controlled drugs and pharmacy records in line with legal requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support the delivery of pharmacy services including vaccinations, health screening and other clinical services where applicable.
  • Promote health awareness and patient wellbeing.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, healthcare professionals and the wider community.
  • Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with all PSI standards and pharmacy legislation.
Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
  • Previous experience working within an Irish community pharmacy is desirable.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and excellent attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
