Job summary

PharmacyStore Ireland is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our team in Limerick. You will ensure the pharmacy operates in full compliance with PSI, HSE, and professional standards, oversee safe dispensing, and provide professional patient care. You will lead by example, maintain training, and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the team in a community-focused setting.

Qualifications

  • Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) to practise as a pharmacist in Ireland.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy legislation, PSI requirements, and professional standards.
  • Confidentiality, GDPR, data protection and professional record-keeping in a pharmacy.
  • Confidence using pharmacy dispensing systems (MPS).

  • Oversee dispensing and supply of medicines for accuracy and safety.
  • Maintain compliance with PSI, HSE and professional standards.
  • Lead by example and promote PSI Code of Conduct across the team.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Pharmacist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist who is passionate about delivering safe, high-quality patient care and ensuring the highest standards of professional practice.

As a Pharmacist, you will play a key role in ensuring the pharmacy operates in full compliance with PSI, HSE, and all relevant legislative and professional requirements.

What You'll Be Responsible For
Professional & Regulatory Practice
  • Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with PSI, HSE, legislative, and professional standards.
  • Lead by example and promote compliance with the PSI Code of Conduct across the pharmacy team.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, continuous improvement, and patient safety.
  • Maintain professional competence and complete all required training and continuing professional development.
Medicines Management & Supply
  • Oversee the safe and accurate preparation, dispensing, and supply of medicines.
  • Take ownership of dispensing accuracy by monitoring errors, identifying risks, and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Work closely with your Manager to ensure medicines are sourced from authorised suppliers and are authorised for supply.
  • Ensure returned, unwanted, damaged, or expired medicines are appropriately segregated, securely stored, and managed.
  • Ensure all medicines are stored and maintained in accordance with their authorisation and quality requirements.
Patient Care
  • Provide professional consultations, medication reviews, and counselling to support positive patient outcomes.
  • Identify and manage medication-related risks and patient safety concerns.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and accessible information and education to patients regarding their medicines.
  • Ensure patients and customers feel listened to, respected, and valued.
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, using them as opportunities to improve our service.
  • Promote public health initiatives and services that benefit our patients and local community.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with the wider pharmacy team.
  • Communicate clearly and contribute to effective handovers within the pharmacy team.
  • Support the smooth running of the dispensary and assist with workload management during busy periods
  • Support and develop colleagues through positive role modelling and professional leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pharmacy processes, patient safety, and the overall customer experience.
  • Support the introduction of new services, systems, technologies, and ways of working in the pharmacy.
What We're Looking For

You will have:

  • Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) and the appropriate eligibility to practise as a pharmacist in Ireland.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy legislation, PSI requirements, and professional standards.
  • An understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, data protection and professional record-keeping requirements within a pharmacy.
  • Confidence using pharmacy dispensing systems (MPS).
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to dispensing accuracy and patient safety.
  • A patient-focused approach and excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying risks and driving improvements.
  • A genuine passion for delivering excellent patient care and promoting positive health outcomes.
