Job summary

NSPCA Dublin is seeking a Supervisor to join the Management Team, overseeing the Pet Hotel and Doggie Daycare. You will supervise daily operations, ensure care and safety of animals, and support staff to deliver high standards of service to pets and their owners.

Weekend and holiday availability is required; you will mentor staff, manage tasks, liaise with clients, and help maintain a clean, enriched environment while stepping in for the Manager when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in animal care or a similar environment.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience essential.
• Strong understanding of animal welfare, behaviour and basic care requirements.
• Confident handling a variety of dog breeds and cats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organised and proactive with time management.
• Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Managing the daily operations of the Pet Hotel and Doggie Daycare.
• Delegate tasks effectively among team members, ensuring clear communication and standard completion.
• Oversee and participate in animal care duties including feeding, cleaning, medication, and enrichment.
• Ensure daily checklists and cleaning protocols are followed to a high standard.
• Supervise team members on shift, providing support and ensuring efficient operations.
• Monitor animal health and behaviour; report concerns promptly.
• Liaise with clients during drop-off and collection, offering clear communication and reassurance.
• Assist in training new staff, volunteers and students; model proper animal handling and hygiene.
• Support stock and supplies management; report low levels or maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
• Step into leadership in the absence of the Manager to ensure continuity.
