Job summary

Medforce is recruiting for a Person in Charge (PIC) to lead a children’s care service in Ireland. This senior role oversees delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and supports a multidisciplinary team to ensure safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

The role requires experience in senior management within children’s residential care or disability services, with strong leadership, communication and organisational abilities.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in Social Care, Social Work, Nursing or related discipline.
  • Experience in senior management or leadership within children’s residential care, disability services, or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience developing multidisciplinary or care teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and management of the service.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, safe, person-centred care.
  • Lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team of care professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies and standards.

Person in Charge (PIC) – Children’s Services

Medforce are currently recruiting for a Person in Charge (PIC) to join an established children’s care service.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional looking to take on a senior leadership role, overseeing the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and supporting a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide overall leadership and management of the service.

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and person-centred care.

  • Lead, support and develop a team of care and social care professionals.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies and standards.

  • Oversee care planning, risk management and safeguarding procedures.

  • Work closely with children, young people, families and relevant professionals.

  • Manage staff performance, supervision, training and development.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all required documentation is completed.

  • Participate in audits, inspections and service improvement initiatives.

  • Manage staffing, rostering and operational requirements.

  • Promote a positive, supportive and therapeutic environment for those in care.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Relevant qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Nursing or another related discipline.

  • Previous experience in a senior management or leadership position within children’s residential care, disability services or a similar setting.

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience managing and developing a multidisciplinary or care team.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

  • Strong understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed approaches.

  • Ability to work effectively with children, young people, families and external professionals.

  • Full driving licence and access to own transport.

  • Right to work in Ireland.

  • Garda vetting and satisfactory references.
