Job summary

The Person in Charge (PIC) will oversee day-to-day management of a residential service, ensuring high-quality, safe, and empowering care for residents. You will lead by example, drive service excellence, and promote dignity, respect, and inclusion.

Responsibilities include leading person-centred plans, staff management, safeguarding, audits, and building strong family relationships, with focus on governance and budget management.

Qualifications

  • QQI Level 5 in Health or Social Care is essential.
  • QQI Level 6 Management Qualification is essential.
  • Experience managing disability or social care services.
  • Experience in HIQA-regulated environments.

Person in Charge (PIC) – Residential Service

Our client are a specialist social care provider delivering Residential, Day and Outreach Services for children and adults with Disabilities and Autism, supporting individuals to realise their potential and live meaningful, inclusive lives.

We are currently recruiting a Person in Charge to join on a permanent basis across their Residential Services. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to manage a person-centred service while supporting and developing a dedicated team.

The Role

As PIC, you will oversee the day-to-day management of a residential service, ensuring high-quality, safe, and empowering support for residents. You will lead by example, drive service excellence, and promote a culture built on dignity, respect, and inclusion.

You will:
  • Lead person-centred support planning and service delivery
  • Manage and support staff teams
  • Ensure HIQA compliance and quality standards
  • Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and medication management
  • Lead audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in Health or Social Care
    • QQI Level 5 essential
    • QQI Level 7 preferred
  • QQI Level 6 Management Qualification essential
  • Experience managing disability or social care services
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Experience in HIQA-regulated environments
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care
