Salary: €45,000 – €55,000 per year, depending on experience

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Person in Charge (PIC) to lead the overall management and governance of our designated centre.
The PIC will play a key leadership role in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality and person-centred care, while maintaining full compliance with HIQA standards and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Provide effective leadership and oversight of the designated centre.
- Manage the day-to-day operations and ensure consistently high standards of care.
- Promote a positive, respectful and supportive environment for residents and staff.
- Maintain effective governance systems, including audits, reviews and continuous improvement.
HIQA & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, regulations and relevant legislation.
- Prepare for and participate in HIQA inspections.
- Ensure all required documentation and records are accurate and up to date.
- Manage regulatory notifications and reporting requirements.
Resident Care & Support
- Ensure residents receive individualised, person-centred care based on their needs, preferences and personal plans.
- Promote residents' rights, dignity, independence and choice.
- Foster an inclusive environment based on equality, diversity and respect.
- Engage with residents and families and respond appropriately to feedback and concerns.
- Recruit, manage, supervise and support staff to ensure high standards of practice.
- Conduct staff supervision, performance appraisals and training needs assessments.
- Ensure staff qualifications, Garda vetting and training records are maintained.
- Support ongoing professional development, mentoring and team development.
Health & Safety
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, staff and visitors.
- Oversee fire safety, drills, equipment checks and staff training.
- Complete and monitor risk assessments and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
- Oversee the centre's financial management and effective use of resources.
- Maintain accurate resident, staff and incident records.
- Ensure policies and procedures are implemented, reviewed and regularly updated.
About You
We are looking for a strong and compassionate leader who can demonstrate:
- A relevant Level 8 qualification in Health, Social Care or a related discipline.
- Registration with the appropriate professional body, where applicable (e.g. NMBI).
- A minimum of 3 years' managerial experience within a healthcare or social care setting.
- Experience working with vulnerable people, including individuals with disabilities, older people or people with complex needs.
- Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
- A strong commitment to person-centred care and continuous improvement.
- Good IT and record-keeping skills.
