Job summary

The Rehab Group is seeking a Community Support Worker at the Kildare Resource Center to deliver person-centred community support for individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges. You will work both 1:1 and with groups, planning educational, recreational and occupational activities in the community.

Candidates should have QQI Level 5 in Social Care, a full clean driving licence, and experience in supporting diverse individuals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care, or equivalent
• Full Clean Driving Licence
• Experience in the area of supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges.
• Knowledge and experience of local community resources is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• To plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community
• To ensure best practice in line with up to date research regarding Quality of Life improvements.
• To liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and key community based personnel in the pursuit of accessible community activities for service users.

Community Support Worker: 20614 Permanent part time 23 Hours Contract Kildare Resource Center Kildare Town, Co Kildare

Job Purpose

To assist in the delivery of individualized community support to a number of individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges. Supporting individuals to be valued members of their local communities. Supporting individuals to optimize their emotional, social, occupational and learning experiences, through programmes offered within community. This role will also involve providing 1:1 support to an individual with social activities as well as working with groups in the community.

We offer a competitive starting salary of €15.56-€17.74 per hour (Points 1-5 of the scale), based on qualifications and experience. The 12-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to €21.56 per hour.
