Job summary

Fortis Recruitment in South Dublin is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead a two-person team and own the payroll function with a strong focus on automation, reporting and AI across EuroPay and Excel. You will drive end-to-end payroll across Ireland and Northern Ireland, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.

The role requires hands-on, detail‑oriented leadership with excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Strong payroll experience across Ireland, with UK exposure desirable.
• Experience leading or supervising a payroll team.
• Strong Excel and payroll systems experience, ideally EuroPay.
• Analytical skills across payroll, HR reporting, month end and GL.
• Proven experience in automation and process improvement.
• Comfortable working with IT on AI and system improvements.
• Hands on approach with strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end to end payroll across Ireland and Northern Ireland
• Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance and timely delivery
• Lead and support the payroll team
• Review payroll inputs and resolve queries
• Partner with HR, Finance, Operations and IT
• Manage payroll reporting, reconciliations and month end
• Drive automation, process improvement and system enhancements
• Maintain strong payroll controls and governance
• Manage external payroll and system providers
• Support audits and ensure legislative compliance
• Develop payroll reporting and analysis
• Drive ongoing improvements across the payroll function
