Hours: 35 hours per week
Benefits: Free onsite parking

Contracy Type: Rolling with view to longterm potential opportunity

About:

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for a role where you can take real ownership of the payroll process while working within a supportive and collaborative team?

Our client, a well-established and highly respected organisation, is seeking a Payroll Assistant on an initial rolling contract basis, with strong potential for long-term opportunities. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on accuracy, and is confident managing payroll activities from start to finish.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of both fortnightly and monthly payrolls, supporting a workforce of over 400+ employees while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and operational teams.

The Opportunity:

As part of a close-knit payroll team, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end processing of Irish payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys managing high-volume payroll cycles, working to deadlines, and continuously developing their expertise in payroll administration and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for both monthly and fortnightly payroll schedules, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

  • Calculate and process employee earnings, deductions, pension contributions, taxable benefits, healthcare schemes, statutory leave payments, and other payroll-related adjustments.

  • Prepare and submit payroll information in line with Revenue requirements through the appropriate online reporting platform.

  • Maintain all payroll administration activities, including employment-related documentation, pension records, statutory forms, and employee payroll enquiries.

  • Update payroll records to reflect new hires, employee departures, contractual changes, salary adjustments, and internal transfers.

  • Carry out payroll balancing and reconciliation activities, ensuring all required checks and authorisations are completed before payroll finalisation.

  • Generate payroll reports, management information, and financial summaries to support business and finance decision-making.

  • Assist with month-end payroll activities, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

  • Prepare and coordinate required quarterly returns, ensuring submissions are completed within agreed timescales.

  • Work closely with managers and internal stakeholders to gather, verify, and action payroll information in a timely manner.

  • Provide efficient support to employees on payroll-related matters while handling sensitive information with complete discretion.

  • Contribute to wider HR and people-focused initiatives, supporting departmental projects when required.

About You

  • IPASS certified, or actively studying towards the qualification.

  • Demonstrable experience managing payroll activities from data collection through to final processing and reporting.

  • Sound knowledge of Irish payroll legislation, taxation requirements, and compliance obligations.

  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel capabilities.

  • Able to manage high volumes of payroll data while meeting strict processing deadlines.
