Job summary

Planet is seeking a Capacity & Performance Lead to own capacity and performance management for its payments platform. You will forecast demand, govern resource headroom, and ensure platform performance meets SLO targets as transaction volumes grow.

You will build capacity models, define baselines, and collaborate with engineering on scaling strategies. The role offers a hybrid work model and a focus on cost-performance trade-offs in a high-volume fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in capacity management, performance engineering or infra planning.
• Experience modelling demand and translating growth into capacity requirements.
• Strong understanding of cloud scaling patterns (AWS/Azure/GCP) and on-prem capacity planning.
• Familiarity with monitoring/APM data (Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end capacity and performance management including forecasting and governance.
• Build capacity models translating growth into infrastructure requirements.
• Define baselines and thresholds; trigger proactive right-sizing.
• Collaborate with engineering and cloud teams on scaling strategies and trade-offs.
• Run monthly capacity reviews and report headroom and risk to leadership.
• Feed capacity insights into change risk assessments.
