Job summary

R1 RCM at Intermountain LDS Hospital seeks a Patient Service Representative (Registration) to be the first contact for patients, ensuring fast, compassionate access to care through efficient check-in.

This on-site role, Sunday–Thursday 4:30 PM–12:00 AM, requires outstanding customer service, clear communication, and the ability to work across multiple systems while explaining insurance basics and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient access, medical registration or front desk is a plus.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems for registration and check-in.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with the check-in process across systems.
• Answer phones and collect accurate patient information quickly.
• Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answering questions with clarity.
• Build trust with patients during stressful moments.
• Navigate insurance plans, enter demographics, collect co-pays, and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
