Job summary

Harris Group, Ireland’s leading distributor of commercial vehicles and parts, is seeking a Parts Advisor. You will handle parts enquiries, identify and quote parts, and ensure timely dispatch via online and phone channels.

You will build strong relationships with customers and colleagues, process orders accurately, and help maintain efficient stock control in a busy parts department. The role emphasises accuracy, customer service, and teamwork within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar parts advisor role.
• Good parts and mechanical knowledge.
• Knowledge of HGV and LCV parts and engines.
• Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to adapt to new systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for parts enquiries from customers, suppliers, technicians and trade accounts.
• Identify and supply correct vehicle parts using electronic catalogues and manufacturer systems.
• Prepare and provide quotations for parts and accessories.
• Promote genuine parts and associated products.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with retail, trade and internal customers.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Raise purchase orders and parts requisitions as required.
• Monitor outstanding orders and backorders; liaise with suppliers on stock and delivery.
• Update customers on order status and delivery dates.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in the Dealer Management System.
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, and damaged stock and report.
• Supply parts to workshop technicians to minimise downtime.
• Ensure correct parts reach technicians; assist with VOR parts when needed.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors and Workshop Controllers for efficient workflow.
• Keep documentation accurate and filed; maintain a safe parts department.
