Job summary

The House Hotel in Galway is seeking a reliable Night Porter on a part-time basis to ensure guest comfort and safety during night hours. You will help prepare the hotel for the following day, assist guests overnight, and collaborate with day staff to ensure a smooth handover.

Ideal candidates are guest-focused, calm under pressure, and flexible to work nights, weekends and bank holidays. Previous hospitality experience is helpful but not essential; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, professional and helpful service to guests throughout the night.
• Respond to guest requests and assist with overnight requirements.
• Carry out regular security and safety checks throughout the hotel.
• Assist with late-night arrivals and early departures.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas throughout the night.
• Complete basic cleaning duties as required.
• Set up the breakfast area and prepare the hotel for the morning service.
• Assist with basic breakfast preparation and ensure everything is ready for the morning team.
• Complete overnight checks and handovers accurately.
• Report any maintenance, safety or guest issues to the appropriate manager.
• Ensure the hotel is clean, secure and ready for the next day.
• Work closely with the daytime team to ensure a smooth handover.
