Job summary

The Care Team Ireland is seeking caring, reliable Carers to support children with additional needs in the Wicklow area on a part-time basis. You will help children develop their independence, participate in daily activities and work toward individual goals in a safe and supportive environment.

Ideal candidates have experience supporting children with autism, intellectual disabilities or other needs, plus excellent communication, patience and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or related field.
• Qualifications or experience as an SNA are desirable.
• ABA training is advantageous; ongoing training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support children with additional needs in Wicklow on a part-time basis.
• Promote independence by supporting daily activities and goal achievement.
• Maintain a safe, person-centred care environment with good communication.

The Care Team is seeking caring, reliable and experienced Carers to support children with additional needs in the Wicklow area on a part-time basis.

We are looking for compassionate individuals who are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care and support, helping children to develop their independence, participate in daily activities and achieve their individual goals in a safe and supportive environment.

The successful candidates will have experience supporting children with autism, intellectual disabilities or other additional needs, with a patient, positive and understanding approach to care.

Key Requirements

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or a relevant qualification in Social Care, Childcare or Disability Studies.
• Qualifications or experience as a Special Needs Assistant (SNA).
• Qualifications or training in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
• Previous experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, caring and reliable approach.
• Willingness to undertake additional training if required.
• A full driving licence and access to your own car are essential.

Desirable Skills And Experience

• Experience in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
• Knowledge of Children First safeguarding guidelines.
• Training or experience in communication supports, such as Lámh or PECS.
• Experience supporting children with behaviours of concern.
