Job summary

Londis Cleveragh Road in Sligo is seeking a motivated Deli / Butcher Assistant to support both deli and butcher sections. You will deliver friendly customer service, prepare and present products, and ensure hygiene and food safety standards are met.

The role includes covering in the butcher department during days off, stock checks, labeling, and assisting with deliveries. Previous food handling experience is required; experience in deli or retail is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous food preparation and handling experience is required.
• Deli, butcher, food service, or retail experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly and professional service to all customers.
• Prepare, present, and serve deli products in line with company standards.
• Assist with the preparation, packaging, and display of fresh meat products.
• Provide cover in the butcher department as required.
• Ensure products are fresh, well-stocked, and correctly labelled.
• Follow HACCP procedures and all food safety requirements.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and presentation.
• Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and deliveries.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the store.
