The School Food Company LTD is seeking a Part-time Catering Assistant for Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick, Ireland. The role involves cooking from scratch, helping with daily kitchen operations, serving students, and handling cash/cards.

Shift is 10:00am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday with a rotating roster. Garda Vetting and Child Protection training are required; catering or home-cooking experience is a plus. Training in HACCP and safety is provided.

The School Food Company prepares fresh, healthy lunches cooked daily in onsite school kitchens. We are recruiting hands‑on Catering Assistants who enjoy preparing fresh food and working in a busy canteen environment.

Shift Time: Approx. 10:00am–2:30pm

About the Role

• Cooking from scratch: peeling, chopping, prepping, and cooking fresh ingredients (no raw meat handled)
• Supporting daily kitchen operations in a fast‑paced environment
• Serving students from the canteen, including food service and cash/card handling
• Maintaining high HACCP food safety and hygiene standards

Who This Suits

• Someone who enjoys cooking and working on their feet
• Someone available Monday–Friday with flexibility for the rotating roster
• Not suitable for those with fixed weekday commitments or part‑time education

Requirements

• Willingness to move between schools within a 30‑minute drive when needed
• Garda Vetting and Child Protection Course required
• Catering or home‑cooking experience an advantage; a positive attitude is essential
