Haven Education Centre in Birr, Co. Offaly, is recruiting for a Part Time Afterschool Co-Ordinator to support children's learning, development and wellbeing after school hours.
You will work with a friendly team in a child-centred setting, delivering play-based activities aligned with our Montessori-inspired approach, and helping children settle, learn and thrive. We offer a supportive workplace with flexible hours (20 hours/week, 1.30pm–5.30pm) and opportunities for professional development.

Haven Education Centre is a fun-loving, compassionate and child centred early years education centre located in Birr, Co. Offaly. We are a FULL TIME creche, preschool and afterschool underpinned by a strength and inquiry-based curriculum and play based approach underpinned Montessori principles through Aistear (2024) and Siolta Standards through valuing play, building relationships and nurturing curiosity through meaningful experiences and knowledge. We work closely with our families, Better Start and other supports following our National Quality Frameworks. We are currently seeking passionate, energetic and caring Early Years Practitioners to come and join and expand our team just in time for our exciting new school year!

Minimum QQI Level 5 Qualification in Early Years Care and Education or Equivalent.
Educational Implementation: Apply your knowledge of Aistear (2024) and Siolta Standards to create engaging, play based learning environments and experiences to support and encourage children’s learning and developmental milestones.
Holistic Care: Assist and provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for every child to feel valued.
Observation and Supervision: A genuine passion to support and engage with the children to help with the transition from Primary School to Afterschool Club, support with homework, and mealtimes.
-Ability to monitoring and record children’s progress through documentation of the after schoolers journey through collaborative discussions, idea sharing and creating exciting activities.
Team Collaboration: Work Effectively as part of a team and maintain excellent communication skills.
Personal Attributes: Have a caring, understanding, patient and slow relational pedagogical approach with the Afterschool Group.
-Assist with the general running of the classroom when required.
Garda Vetting and Relevant References will be required before starting date.
Pay: €15.50 - €20 (depending on experience and qualification)
Working Hours Per Week: 20 hours per week (1.30pm – 5.30pm)
