Job summary

Little Haven Education Centre in Birr is seeking a Full-Time Early Years Practitioner (Floating Position) to support babies, toddlers and young children with a play-based, Montessori-influenced curriculum. The role offers a friendly team, competitive pay and opportunities for professional development.

The successful candidate will have QQI Level 5 in Early Years Care and Education or equivalent and will join a supportive environment with flexible working arrangements where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have QQI Level 5 in Early Years Care and Education or equivalent.
• Experience with play-based learning and Siolta principles is desirable.
• Able to work 38.75 hours per week and start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Educational implementation: apply Aistear and Siolta standards to support play-based learning and development.
• Holistic care: provide a safe, stimulating environment for every child.
• Observation and supervision: support babies, toddlers and young children.
• Team collaboration: work effectively as part of a team with clear communication.
• Personal attributes: caring and patient with different age groups; assist with classroom operations.

All About Us:

Little Haven Education Centre is a fun-loving, compassionate and child centred early years education centre located in Birr, Co. Offaly. We are a FULL TIME creche, preschool and afterschool underpinned by a strength and inquiry-based curriculum and play based approach underpinned Montessori principles through Aistear (2024) and Siolta Standards through valuing play, building relationships and nurturing curiosity through meaningful experiences and knowledge. We work closely with our families, Better Start and other supports following our National Quality Frameworks. We are currently seeking passionate, energetic and caring Early Years Practitioners to come and join and expand our team just in time for our exciting new school year!

What we are looking for:

Minimum QQI Level 5 Qualification in Early Years Care and Education or Equivalent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Educational Implementation: Apply your knowledge of Aistear (2024) and Siolta Standards to assist practitioners in play based learning environments and experiences to support and encourage children’s learning and developmental milestones.

Holistic Care: Assist and provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for every child to feel valued.

Observation and Supervision: A genuine passion to support and work with babies, toddlers and young children.

Team Collaboration: Work Effectively as part of a team and maintain excellent communication skills.

Personal Attributes: Have a caring, patient and slow relational pedagogical approach with different ages groups.

-Assist with the general running of the classroom and break covers when required.

Garda Vetting and Relevant References will be required before starting date.

Pay: From €15.50 - €20 (depending on experience and qualification)

Working Hours Per Week: 38.75 hours

Start Date: Immediate Start

Pay: €15.50-€20.00 per hour
