Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment represents an established accountancy practice in Co Meath seeking a Part Qualified Accountant to join their account services team. You will prepare year-end non-audit accounts, reconcile balance sheet items, and assist with statutory financial statements.

Requirements include 2+ years in practice, strong English, and hands-on experience with Excel, Xero and Sage; you will liaise with clients and support the manager on special assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in general accounting practice.
• Hands-on role with strong financial acumen.
• Excellent communication and customer care skills.
• Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year end non-audit company accounts and working papers to review stage.
• Reconcile balance sheet items including VAT, Payroll, leases, hire purchases and fixed assets.
• Post journals and maintain accounting software entries.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts.
• Prepare statutory financial statements in line with deadlines and checklists.
• Assist with year-end close out and year-end journals.
• Prepare Corporation Tax Returns.
• Liaise with clients by phone and written correspondence.
• Assist manager on special client assignments.

Job description

My client is an established 3 partner-chartered accountancy firm based in, Co Meath. With an impressive database of clients, they have been providing quality-chartered accountancy services for over 30 years with a broad range of clients both in terms of audit, non-audit, sole trader etc. and in terms of industry/sector type.

They are currently looking to add to their team an experienced Part Qualified Accountant to assist in their account services team

Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparation of year end non-audit company accounts and working papers to review stage
• Ability to reconcile balance sheet items including VAT, Payroll, leases, hire purchases and fixed assets
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and familiarity of posting journals onto accounting software
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts
• Preparation of statutory financial statements in line with agreed deadlines, ability to follow checklists, procedures and process requirements
• Assist with year-end close out and year end journals
• Preparation of Corporation Tax Returns
• Liaising with clients – confident in dealing with clients over the phone and through written correspondence
• Assisting manager on special client assignments

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 2 plus years general accounting practice experience
• Strong financial acumen and the ability to perform a hands-on role
• Excellent communication and customer care skills
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to work on own initiative
• CCH Accounts Production
• Excel (Intermediate/Advanced preferable)
• Surf, Xero and Sage Line 50 (most common client accounting system)
• Microsoft Suite
