Job summary

Hodson Bay Hotel is seeking a Painter & Decorator to join our Maintenance Team in the Athlone region. The successful candidate will maintain high standards across our property, ensuring a safe, comfortable and well-presented environment for guests and staff.

Key duties include internal and external painting, surface preparation, applying finishes, minor repairs and collaborating with the maintenance team on projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in painting & decorating or general maintenance.
• Good attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality finishes.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong awareness of health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works across the property.
• Prepare surfaces for painting (sanding, filling, priming, cleaning).
• Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper and other finishes using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Complete minor repairs to walls, ceilings, woodwork and fixtures prior to decorating.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify areas requiring repair or redecoration.
• Maintain tools, materials and workspaces in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow all health & safety procedures when using equipment, ladders and materials.
• Work closely with the wider maintenance team on general upkeep and projects.
• Assist with other general maintenance duties as required.

We are currently recruiting a Painter & Decorator to join our Maintenance Team.

Hours

• Full-time, Monday to Friday - Weekends off
• 8.00am - 4.30pm
